The YMCA Career Development & Learning Centre offers programs and services to youth who are out of school and adults who are out of work, to develop life skills and assist in employment planning, preparation, training and lifelong learning.
More than 22,000 individuals are assisted annually.
Here We Grow Again- Renovation Update
The YMCA Career Development & Learning Centre (Lower Level of Ron Edwards Family YMCA) is adding a new entrance on the north side of the building. Funded by Employment Ontario, this new covered entrance will allow direct and convenient access to YMCA Employment Services.
The Construction is scheduled to begin Monday September 19th with an approximate 12 week timeframe to completion on or around the week of December 12th. The Consultant Architect for this project is Garwood – Jones and Hanham and the General Contractor is Porteous and Hardcastle of Burlington

We do not anticipate any changes or impact to Health, Fitness & Recreation programming or space

Majority of the construction will occur outside the building on the north side

Please watch for trucks accessing the site and there will be high truck traffic and movement in the north parking area for the first few weeks

7 parking spaces closest to the north wall will be allocated to and occupied by the contractors during construction
If there are any questions or concerns regarding this addition or as we proceed through construction please bring them to the attention of YMCA staff. Progress updates will be posted throughout the construction phase and will notice will be provided should an interruption to member services and programming be forthcoming as result of this project.
